So begins this history

In 1988, a century after the arrival of bananas to Colombia, we began the companywith an estate of 143 hectares of land in the Urabá region of Antioquia. Gradually we expanded into new farms and virgin lands.

In 2001, we became C. I. Banafrut, with the goal of becoming a marketer of agricultural products, whose exports today total more than 10 million boxes of banana a year, ranking us third in the region.

To date, in C. I. Banafrut, we own 33 farms and an extension of about 3,500 hectares, as well as 550 additional hectares of virgin land in reserve, to give continuity to our project of development.

The largest banana region of Colombia is found in the Urabá region, consisting of 11 municipalities and just over 500,000 inhabitants.

More than 2,500 people
work directly with us,

and 10,000 more form a network of indirect jobs associated with our company.

Based on the excellence required by our multiple certifies, we want to transfer the business development to the social sphere and respect for the environment.

For this reason, in 2007 we made the decision to invest in the most ambitious FairTrade project in the Urabá area.
And this is, precisely, our aim:

to continue growing in the production and marketing of tropical fruits

with the highest standards of quality.

We preserve the environment

creating a natural balance
